pampered too has always taken a practical approach to maintain a safe environment and aims to act sensibly in the interests of health and safety, particularly for all clients but also for members of staff, for the welfare of all concerned.
We have introduced our Swine Flu Contingency Plan and the following information is intended to reassure clients by clearly explaining the steps we are taking to help minimize any risks.
Direct contact
To keep the current situation in perspective, any environment involving direct contact with others, whether an essential necessity such as going to the supermarket, or part of everyday life such as using public transport, is likely to carry a higher degree of risk of catching or spreading disease, but the vast majority will go about their daily lives on a ‘business as usual’ basis.
Face-to-face contact
Where face-to-face contact (within one metre) is inevitable, although the risk of catching or spreading disease may initially seem higher, in reality it may be considerably lower, due to the relatively small number of close direct contacts people have each day.
Unknowingly infectious
Whether through direct or face-to-face contact, the one factor that presents the greater risk is that the infectious period for Swine Flu is around five days in all, starting from a day before symptoms even begin.
Minimizing the risks
It is for this reason that all Therapists will wear a suitable face mask and follow the manufacturer’s instructions for maximum efficiency and responsible disposal, particularly throughout all treatments involving face-to-face contact within one metre.
By doing so, we hope to minimize the risk of unknowingly passing the virus from an earlier, seemingly healthy client, through us and onto you.
If you feel at all uncomfortable with this arrangement (e.g. “I’m always nervous in the dentist’s chair and the mask reminds me of the dentist”) please tell your Therapist, as we want to make your visit to pampered too as safe but as relaxing as possible.
Appointments – unforeseen circumstances
All members of staff (not only Therapists) are forbidden to attend the salon if they are showing any symptoms of Swine Flu and, throughout any possible infectious period until they have fully recovered.
If the necessity arises at pampered too, we will do our very best to offer you the choice of either keeping your pre-arranged appointment but with another Therapist or, postponing your appointment until your usual Therapist returns to work. It will only be under exceptional circumstances that we may have no alternative other than to ask that we reschedule your appointment to another Therapist or, postpone your appointment until your usual Therapist returns. In either event, we will contact you at the earliest possible opportunity.
How you can help
In the interests of all other clients and all members of staff, we respectfully ask you to avoid coming to the salon if you are experiencing any of the symptoms listed below and instead, either you, someone in your family or a friend, contact us by phone on 01245 471888 or by email to beauty@pamperedtoo.com as soon as possible. This will be really appreciated as it will allow the appointment to be filled and enable someone else to be pampered too.
